The following year, 1986, Perry Mandera opened The Custom Companies, Inc., in Northlake, Illinois. The firm was the first trucking company to offer its customers “Full Service Transportation” services. The Custom Companies Inc. was founded with one basic idea in mind, “One Call Does It All”. Mr. Mandera’s vision was to offer his clients LTL, Truckload, Local Cartage and Airfreights service under one roof. The company over the last 25 years has built a reputation as an industry leader by providing its customers with “World Class Service” in all modes of transportation. As President, Perry Mandera is actively involved in the day to day operation of the entire company. The company currently employs more than 350 people in the Chicago and Los Angeles communities.

Active in the community and philanthropic by nature, Perry Mandera supports local and national charities, such as the Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation, Special Olympics, and AIDS research. He also sent more than 40 truckloads of food, water and other supplies to those in need following Hurricane Katrina’s landfall on the Mississippi and Louisiana gulf coasts. Perry Mandera has also coached youth sports teams and has supported Olympic boxers. In addition, he started his own non-profit organization, Custom Cares Charities, Inc., to assist children in need.
