2015 Chicago Walk to Cure Arthritis Slated for June 6, 2015

In 1986, Perry Mandera founded the Custom Companies, a “full-service transportation company,” and has since grown the company into a leader in domestic freight transportation and logistics. Perry Mandera subsequently created Custom Cares, the philanthropic arm of his company, which supports the Arthritis Foundation, among other beneficiaries

Arthritis is one of the most common causes of disability in the United States, affecting an estimated 52.5 million individuals, or more than one in every five adults. By the year 2030, the number is projected to jump to 67 million Americans. Although there are treatments and preventive strategies for the disease, no cure exists. As the largest platform for the arthritis community nationwide, the Arthritis Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to educate the public, provide access to medications, and fund new research to find a cure.

One of the Foundation’s main fundraising events is the annual Walk to Cure Arthritis. The 2015 Walk to Cure Arthritis will take place in Chicago on June 6, 2015. Featuring three-mile and one-mile courses, the walk will include fundraising incentives as well as several family-friendly, fun activities.
